The Centre of Pedagogy Presents: Celebrating Teaching and Learning – What Makes Great Teaching?

The Centre of Pedagogy events promotes and present educational research in the area of Education at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø to meet the TIRI (Teaching-Intensive, Research-Informed) Agenda. 

The events provide continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities for experienced professional teachers, former trainee teachers, education mentors and assessors, and partnership colleges in the Secondary School, Further Education (FE), and Higher Education (HE) teaching sector. 

Our next Centre of Pedagogy event will take place on Thursday 20 April 5:30-7:30pm on Zoom.  

Come and join us online for the presentation of educational research to meet the Teaching-Intensive, Research-Informed agenda at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.  

The theme is based on current areas of focus in the education sector and the event will provide a series of talks and presentations on the theme of: 

Celebrating Teaching and Learning: What makes great teaching?  

Our Guest Speakers include:  

- Reena Bhogal-Welsh – An experienced high school educational practitioner- offers a unique view into high school classrooms, and into the practice of experienced school teachers: ‘ Metacognition and sharing models of practice that have been implemented in an outstanding school’ 

- Sam Jones (Editor) & Stacey Salt (chapter author) of the new book: Great FE Teaching (Nov 2022) open up the discussion of: ‘What makes great FE teaching?’ 

- Kayte Haselgrove - Assistant Programme Leader for Post 14 Further Education and Skills Initial Teacher Education- Derby University presents practical ideas on:  ‘Creating Curiosity in Teaching’  

This a great opportunity for continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities and to keep up-to-date with recent research in the area of education.
