Study with an Off-Campus Partner
As Head of the School of Arts and Acting Head of the School of Creative Technologies, Sam Johnson oversees a broad range of dynamic subject areas associated with the booming Creative Industries sector.
She also works closely with the Off-Campus Division to support partnership development and collaboration with influential external organisations such as Shockout Arts and Backstage Academy and has enjoyed the opportunity to be involved in the validation and coordination of prestigious international collaborative projects which have helped to extend the global reach of the University.
Having undertaken several roles within the University, including Principal Lecturer for Quality Enhancement and University Learning and Teaching Fellow, Sam is well-versed in the importance of full compliance with University policies and procedures which protect and enhance the value of our academic awards. Sam represents the University on many cultural and educational strategy groups and committees across Bolton and the North West. She is also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is working closely with key colleagues in the development of the University's REF2021 research submission.
Sam very much valued her 3 year term as a Parent Governor at Thornleigh Salesian College and during this time came to appreciate the significance and core responsibilities of an educational Governing Body. She is whole-heartedly committed to the University's inclusive approach to widening access and participation and to facilitating life-long learning across the wider University Group. Sam is also a passionate advocate of Arts for All and is an active proponent of the Arts and Wellbeing agenda.
