Study with an Off-Campus Partner
Debbie works on the Midwifery Team as an Associate Midwifery Lecturer. She has been working at The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø since May 2022. She is a Registered Midwife (Diploma in Midwifery) and a Registered Nurse (Registered General Nursing Qualification)
Debbie worked as a qualified nurse for 3 years and then transferred to complete her Midwifery qualification. She has been a midwife for 28 years and within this time has worked as a team midwife, on the Antenatal Ward, Postnatal Ward and Delivery suite. Debbie has mainly worked in community and Free-standing Maternity Unit. For the majority of her career, she has worked as a Community Midwife and this is where her real passion lies. Debbie is an advocate for woman and is passionate about promoting normality and has attended many home births over the years. She has also worked on a Free-Standing Midwifery Unit in Salford.
In her current role Debbie is now able to share her knowledge and experience with student midwives.
Debbie has an additional NIPE qualification and is currently undertaking the Introduction to Teaching and Learning (ITL) course.
